NDS More Details For Raid Over The River

Announced back in December, details are finally emerging about this DS title.

Polish developer Nibris are about to revamp their website, and have given AMN a look at the fleshed out content that will appear on there. Amongst other things are more details on Raid Over The River, though this is still a working title.

The game, which is slated for release later this year, is looking like it will be a top down, vertical shoot 'em up, where you play as David McBride, who is described as "not a one-dimensional character". There are 10 levels in the game, which move through three time periods - medieval times, World War II and the near future.

Apparently also heavily plot driven, the game will also feature "simulator-like tactical elements" meaning that the player will need to be aware of things like the specific weaponry and armour chosen for each mission, and also the petrol of the vehicle.

If the game can live up to it's press release, then it should be something special, but considering some of the hyperbole in there, that might be difficult:

"A game is arriving which will not only change the way you look at action games, but games in general. The history of video games will divide into this one - before Raid over the River and after."

A sure thing for press release of the year, at the very least.
