Animal Crossing 3DS updates

Nintendo Direct provided some interesting bits of information regarding the upcoming 3DS title.

It was previously known streetpass would be used for obtaining example houses, but now it was also revealed it will be used for obtaining new characters. There is also a considerable amount of new items in the game, with the trailer shown during the Japanese Direct showing a TV with a Wii Fit board as one of the examples.

Sad news for gamers who wanted to pick up this title, during the European Nintendo Direct it was revealed the title is now set for the first half of 2013 in Europe. Hopefully this is more a sign of "Animal Crossing is usually delayed in Europe" instead of "no western release in 2012".
