NDS Plants vs. Zombies Arrives on DS and DSiWare

We've already played this game to death on our home computers but now Popcap Games have released Plants vs. Zombies not only for the DS but also as a DSiWare download.

The game features all of the engaging gameplay included in the PC edition Adventure, Survival and Puzzle modes-while adding multiplayer action, plus four all-new, exclusive mini-games and 14 achievements.

The Nintendo DSiWare version of Plants vs. Zombies contains Adventure mode gameplay, all four of the new mini-games from the Nintendo DS adaptation and one Nintendo DSiWare exclusive mini-game, Zombie Trap.

"Plants vs. Zombies is already a fan favorite on PC, iPhone, iPad, and Xbox, and with this latest incarnation, we're bringing something special to Nintendo DS enthusiasts that'll keep players equally enthralled," said Ed Allard, head of worldwide studios at PopCap. ,i>"Four modes of dual-screen play, multiplayer action, four all-new mini-games, and 14 achievements offer a great combination of original gameplay and unique features that makes the backyard battle for brains fresh and fun."

Plants vs. Zombies for the Nintendo DS has been tuned specifically for dual-screen gameplay and features multiplayer action via an ad-hoc wireless network in the game's Versus mode, where players can go head-to-head against one another as sunflowers, or zombies. Along with this, and all three modes of original content, the game introduces non-stop action with four all-new - and exclusive - mini-games such as Air Raid, Home Run Derby, Heat Wave and BOMB All Together where players will blast zombies into the hereafter!

  • While I applaud the team for doing something creative, given the traditional tower-defense game a twist, however the game is now kinda old. This feels like they are milking the title.

  • I agree but it's still a great game.

  • I am just tired of seeming these companies that just keep on pushing their one-hit-wonder and the public is feeding into this behavior. Angry Birds studio is now trash talking home consoles, its success comes from "imitating" Crush the Castle from Armor Games. Pop Cap's only original content is now two years old but still being sold as new even though I can play the similar game on Flash for free. And Square has been re-releasing every single game. As long as the public keeps on buying, we would not see games that are not God of War, Call of Duty, and Mario clones. And the original IPs can't earn enough money competing against these clones, thus killing creativity.
