ALL Game Cancellations at Hudson

News is reaching us that publisher Hudson are cancelling several of their high profile titles for the Wii and even the 3DS.

Included in the announcement are the downloadable 're-working' of Bonk: Brink of Extinction and possibly the first shelved game for the 3DS: Bomberman. It's thought that the 'scaling back' of Hudson's release schedule is due in part to the recent closure of their US offices. We'll be looking into this a little deeper, in the next few days, but things aren't looking good for fans of these arcade classics.

Bonk: Brink of Extinction is an all new downloadable adventure featuring story mode with co-op play. The loveable caveman Bonk and his huge head returns to save the world from a doomsday comet on a collision course with Earth. Meanwhile the comet's magnetic field is driving the planet's creatures crazy and smaller bits of debris are smashing into the jungle near Bonk's home. Bonk must swim, bite, climb, jump, run and headbutt his way through jungles, deserts and volcanic caverns while earning power ups, reaching check points and gaining extra health on a perilous journey to the very center of the planet. Bonk: Brink of Extinction also features new transformations as Bonk morphs into eight different forms by eating meat or encountering Primordial Ooze.

Bomberman 3DS upholds the legacy of the Bomberman multiplayer experience while utilizing all-new game mechanics for a completely new game. With the all-new Life System, players are able to extend the life of their characters on the battlefield, resulting in epic Bomberman battles or in the case of newbs, allowing a handicap. Local battles can be played with up to 4 players, but connecting online via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection enables clashes with up to 8 players from around the world! Experience new arenas with breath-taking 3D visuals and watch as your character takes flight out of your 3DS when the bombs drop!

Bomberman's first outing on Nintendo 3DS also marks his return to adventure. Immerse yourself in a 3D city set in Bomberman's world as you take control of Bomberman and embark on a journey to free Central City from the renegade robot corps. Utilize special bombs not found in multiplayer modes to solve puzzles, navigate treacherous pathways, and blast your enemies. Go it alone, or bring a friend on your journey across the land with local co-op gameplay!

  • Konami is denying these are canceled. It seems the source is Famitsu just dumping all Hudson games into a canceled list.

  • After what Hudson did to Bomberman on 360, they kinda have this coming.

  • It's a real shame that Konami have set about shutting the US studios after buying Hudson out completely. Lost in Shadow/A Shadow's Tale was great and came from one of those studios and I personally think it's a crime to let that talent go.
