WII Retro City Rampage Nominated for IGF and More

Vblank Entertainments Retro City Rampage has been nominated for the IGF's Excellence in Audio award.

Retro City Rampage is contains various chip tunes and other retro style music. To celebrate their nomination Vblank Entertainment has released free music for the video game. They have also launched a remix competition and along side the competition have open sourced the theme song to the game.

For the competition any interested parties can gain full access to the Retro City Rampage theme song, with the goal to remix the theme. The theme is composed by acclaimed game musician Jake "virt" Kaufman, and believes the theme is a great learning too for people interested in making their own chip music. Jake has been involved in games such as Contra IV and Shantae: Risky's Revenge. For more information about the competition, you can find it on their website.

Along side this competition is the release of various tracks in Retro City Rampage. You can listen to them on the website, or download your own copy. Once again check it out on their website.

Vblank Entertainment will be at the Independent Games Festival, which is set to be held from March 2nd to the 4th. Fans are welcome to come and play the game, as well as possibly meeting the developers.

The award show is on the 2nd of March, and Retro City Rampage also received honorable mentions for both the Grand Prize and Excellence in Visual Art awards.
