THQ today announced its plans to deliver its first demolition derby style party game: SpongeBob's Boating Bash, exclusive for Wii and Nintendo DS(i).

Remember Destruction Derby on PC? Back in the ages (yes, it was the 20th century back then), the concept of an all-out war using only cars in an arena was totally hot and new. Now, fifteen years later, THQ announces plans to bring a similar game to Nintendo DS and Wii starring everyone's favorite sponge: SpongeBob Squarepants.

SpongeBob's Boating Bash is a high energy and fast-paced video game that lets players compete as one of nine SpongeBob characters and "crash-n-bash" their way to victory within demolition arenas throughout Bikini Bottom. The multi-player game allows up to four players to drive more than 100 customized boat mobiles, while trying to knock off and collect other boat parts in order to earn points and move up levels, and ultimately earn their boat mobile license.

Crash 'N Bash with your favorite SpongeBob character in this exhilarating, fast-paced demolition derby style party game full of excitement for the whole family. Players drive around in cars...er, boats competing within wacky arenas throughout Bikini Bottom to ultimately be the last boat standing! The story draws upon one of the most popular events in the TV Series which is SpongeBob's never ending quest to earn his coveted boating license. In the game, SpongeBob is tricked into a D.R.I.V.E. course by a shady Shark character to earn his license and is taught the WRONG way to drive.
