ALL Call Of Duty: World at War Bombs on the Nintendo Wii & DS

Call of Duty: World at War, the fifth official title in the main COD series, has bombed out on the Nintendo Wii & DS.

It seems that people prefer HD graphics to motion controls when it comes to titles like Call of Duty: World at War, which bombed on the Nintendo Wii & DS.

"The Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty: World at War led the way with 1.41 million units sold. The PS3 version performed admirably, with nearly 600,000 sold. The PS2, PC, DS and Wii versions of Call of Duty: World at War, however, sold only about 200,000 units combined, something that is surely disappointing to Activision considering the advertising specifically targeting the Wii version of the game and Call of Duty's origin as a PC title," says GameDaily

Of course this shouldn't be a shock after many complained of the fact that Call of Duty 4 wasn't on the Nintendo Wii and that they would have purchased the title had it been. However, due to the lack of content that both the DS & Wii versions have compared to the PS3 & 360 versions, it isn't surprising why many gamers chose them over the Nintendo versions.

  • I think that people prefer to play the original version of the game. CoD World at War was made mainly on Xbox 360 by Treyarch, the other versions was ported by other people. In particular, DS and PS2 versions are totally different games. The PS2 version was made by Rebellion (Alien VS Predator Atari Jaguar, Alien VS Predator PC, Judge Dredd, etc). To say the truth, I ave most respect of Rebellion than Treyarch, but obiouvsly this don't counts in software selling.

  • Surprised about the DS version not selling well. n-Space did an amazing job with that title and it's just sad to see it not get the recognition in sales it deserves. I expected the Wii version to do poorly. While it's nice to see it on the Wii, and to see it have a decent online multiplayer, many people who would have bought this on the Wii perhaps have another console and as such bought it elsewhere. I know I have.
