WII Disaster: Day of Crisis Sells 10,000 in it's First Day

Disaster: Day of Crisis the game that Nintendo basically snuck on to shelves in retailers within Japan has suprisingly seen a successful first day in terms of sales with the lack of acknowledgement Nintendo has given the title.

It seems that Nintendo must have known that Disaster: Day of Crisis would be successful in stores as the game that Nintendo barely mentioned or hyped up giving only a couple of weeks notice about release has sold considerably well on it's first day. The game managed to sell about 10,000 copies within it's first day and considering that this was a game that didn't get much press time or advertisement it has done well.

Did Nintendo know this would occur or are they trying at a new marketing tactic with some of their games?
