Atlantis (Game Boy Advance) - Description
Game Ratings
Based on the animated feature, Atlantis GBA is a cheery side-scroller that will appeal most to self-starters who simply have to collect everything in a game.
While both the GBA and GBC Atlantis games are platformers, they are as unlike as a manatee and a minnow. Besides the obvious improvement in graphics and sound in the GBA version, the game is also faster and has more responsive controls. While a big part of the GBC game's challenge was figuring which crew member to use in each new situation, the GBA game streamlines the action by allowing you to only control the bookish Milo Thatch.
Atlantis GBA boasts a treasure trove of collectibles, but few are really needed to complete the game. Since just about all the enemies have apparently departed in search of El Dorado or some other lost empire, the main challenge is simply reaching each exit's level. That's only suspenseful in the timed levels. The ho-hum payoff for collecting all the crystals is the opportunity to see the credits.
