Zelda

The young boy Link awakens one stormy night after receiving an urgent telepathic message from Princess Zelda. The fair maiden was kidnapped by Agahnim, the king´s trusted wizard. Link leaps into action, heading to nearby Hyrule Castle to save the princess. But Link´s quest will lead him much farther than that as he discovers the disturbing depths of Agahnim´s scheming against the kingdom.

Link discovers that the twisted wizard wishes to corrupt the land itself by eroding the barrier between the Light World and the Dark World -- which would result in a magic-hungry madman taking over both worlds.

In the first portion of his epic quest, Link must probe the Light World, conquering palaces and scouring the land in search of a magic strong enough to challenge the sinister sorcerer...

Link eventually succeeds in defeating the evil wizard Agahnim, but his dying curse brings the hero to the Dark World under the most dire circumstances.

Link soon discovers that he is destined to become much more than an ordinary boy. He´s tied to a special legacy and remarkable bloodlines. Link also discovers a powerful magic throughout the Dark World, but it is buried deep in the ruins, palaces and corrupt towns of this ravaged world.

All the while, whisperings of the return of a great evil can be heard throughout the land. Could this mean that the dark sorcerer Ganon is set to return? Will Link be strong enough to stand up to such an enemy? The answer lies ahead...

Four Swords

Legend has it that in the distant past, a young hero challenged a maniacal wind mage named Vaati, who was storming around the countryside and abducting maidens. With the power of an enchanted blade, the Four Sword, the hero split into four heroes, each one with the wits and strength to help take on Vaati -- and they defeated the mighty mage.

Many years later, Princess Zelda senses a disturbance in the wind. She knows the legend and brings Link to the shrine where the Four Sword is kept. Just when she explains to Link that Vaati was defeated -- and trapped inside the mystical blade -- the wind mage swoops down and steals her into the sky!

Left alone, Link knows what he must do -- pull free the Four Sword and call in new recruits -- himself times four! And so begins a new legend of the Four Sword ...

Up to four players can cooperate and compete in Four Swords -- where four Links fight together through the most grueling dungeons yet!

The more you play Four Swords, the more of Four Swords there is. Every time you play, the dungeons are different than the last time you plundered them. The obstacles have all been designed to demand that multiple heroes solve problems and slash foes together, but even as you work together, you compete against your friends to see who can collect the most Rupees.

So gather your most heroic friends and get ready for a legendary multiplayer experience!

There´s no way Link can defeat Vaati alone. He needs the help of other adventurers. Check out some new types of challenges facing Link ... and Link and Link and Link!

The trials:
  • CHAMBERS OF INSIGHT: In the Chambers of Insight, your team will learn about new magical gear and multiplayer tactics in Four Swords. Frequently, it takes the strength of all four players to move a boulder or activate a switch.
  • CUT-THROAT COMPETITION: The dungeons encourage as much competition as they do cooperation. After you beat any stage boss, all team players are ranked by the amount of Rupees they´ve found. The player with the most wins the Medal of Courage!
  • HEAVE HO: An important technique in Four Swords is the ability to grab and throw teammates. This can work to your advantage when you´re trying to access an out-of-reach switch, or to your disadvantage when one of your "friends" purposely tosses you down a pit!
  • CONNECTED FEATURES: A Link to the Past is on the same Game Pak as Four Swords, and what you do in one game affects play in the other.
  • SPECIAL SWORD ATTACKS: If you learn a new sword move such as the Beam Sword attack in A Link to the Past, you can use the special move during your adventures in Four Swords.
  • SECRET DUNGEON: After you beat the final boss in A Link to the Past and Vaati (in the first Four Swords epic), a whole new dungeon will open in A Link to the Past.
  • THE RIDDLE QUEST: The player who earns the most Rupees in an area wins a medal. Once you earn 10 medals in Four Swords, you can begin a riddle quest in A Link to the Past, hosted by the lumberjack.

The nice part about the Four Swords´ dungeon, is that each time you play it, the dungeon will be different. As you gain more keys and experience, the levels will become more difficult. Replay value rises with this feature.
