Golfsmith, the world's largest specialty golf retailer, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy within the United States and for creditor protection in Canada last month, amid fierce competition from low cost retailers Wal Mart Stores Inc (WMT.N) and Inc (AMZN.).
