NDS DS As Refridgerator Magnet

Soon, the DS can be used as a magnet on the refridgerator, helping you to cook some exquisite meals. Well, in Japan that is. Update Famitsu scan added for the non-believers

Nintendo of Japan has announced the release of a new title for the Nintendo DS, currently referred to as DS Kondate Zenshu (translated: DS Menu Complete Works). The title, considered a sequel to the earlier released Cooking DS, contains over 1000 different recipes and allows for connectivity using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service.

But here's for the revolutionary part: Nintendo realizes that putting your precious Nintendo DS Lite on the kitchen sink while cooking can be considered dangerous for the unit. Hence why Nintendo comes up with a holder which includes a magnet to stick your DS on the refridgerator while cooking. Impressive thinking.

Update Famitsu scan added for the non-believers The latest edition of Famitsu Magazine, due today, shows the first screenshots of the game in question plus... the first photos of the magnet-holder for the Nintendo DS Lite.

The scan of the article can be found here.

Thanks go out to Jonnyram for the scans.

  • Oh my God... It's like the game on GBC that could link to a sewing machine!

  • Creative, but not practical. It's when Nintendo pulls moves like this when I doubt my fanboy-ism.

  • "Japanese love that crap", this is the only answer.

  • Somehow, I don't think it's Nintendo's first party product. Just like the Action Replay, when you use it, it specially said that it is not endorsed by Nintendo. These kind of stuffs normally comes from 3rd party products.

  • Seeing the screenshots for the non-believers, i can assume it is a first party product, just like the game itself.

  • Well, I do use my NDS as music player some time. Tetris DS, Puyo Puyo Pop, and many other games has great music collection, so some times I just leave it on to play music. Now that I got a place of my own, a cook book would come in handy. If only they can read out what to do and when to do it (timing device) to tell me when to flip the meat or when to turn off the stove, this thing would be great.
