  • I bein to worry about the Japanese. Sure, the DS is excellent, but if they are seriously buying *Tamagotchi* then something is definitely wrong. That goes double for Pokemon MD: BRF.

  • Brain Training: (40k) Brain Training 2: (400k) Thats Amazing... :p

  • Damn...just imagine how much the DS would have sold if it had not sold out O__O

  • The DS' game sales aren't bad for the fact that the DS is sold out. Nice... Look at the 360's sales. :D Its a BRAND NEW console, and the week's sales are 12,300. :D The Japanese must REALLY, REALLY not like Microsoft/Bill Gates/The Xbox Systems. :D

  • japan buyying tamogatchi is nothign wrong. tomagotchi 1 and 2 for gameboy color both sold about 1.4 mllion in japan

  • Nintendo freaking owns Japan. Literally. Sony and M$ should just back off while their ahead(sorta) I guess I'm a fanboy, but whenever I see Nintendo sales dominating the bunch... I get this incredible urge to become, well.. fanboy(ish) What's really sad, though, is that the brain training title would never do that good here in the states. Seemingly, American children would never purchase a game that could possible exercise 45% of their brain. All we like to do is indulge in games which deal with Killing, more killing, and even more killing(GTA, anyone?). The Japanese rock, Go Go NoJ!

  • Japanese buy GTA alot too y'know. Very popular. But DS is really owning, now release Brain Training 3 when Sony release something good and they will secure the charts.

    skarma, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • I agree with Ben.

    Matthew DS-x2, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • Japan does not like GTA at all. Its' popularity is like Famicom in the States. Only a few people know about it.

    Gibran DS-x2, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • Gibran, Not all Japanese people are the same.

    Matthew DS-x2, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • I think Nintendo needs to restock FAST, I hear they won't have more ds's untill late January. That gives another 3 weeks or so for the PSP to catch up. In case you haven't noticed PSP sales were not bad either, imagine what they might be for this month. :/

    NPC, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • GTA is moderately popular in Japan, although not the megton it is here in the US of A.

    Ray00101, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • Matt, you must understand that GTA is "very popular". It sells just enough to make a profit, but not enough to be a hit.

    Gibran DS-x2, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • DS is just selling like crazy. w00t!!!

    Nintendude, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • It's very popular in Europe too, since I live near the place where it's made unfortunately. Damn Scotland and there stupid games.

    skarma, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • dam look at all those million sellers on the ds animal crossing will soon break 2million in japan alone.

    ndreamer, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • Front Mission 5 isn't going to stay in the top 10. In another two weeks its gone.

    rocken, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • What the hell IS brain training exactly? It's been selling like crazy. Good to see the DS is selling healthily (to understate it). With handheld sales like this I doubt Ninty will ever pull a Sega, regardless of home console sales.

    Part 2, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • That list basically tells me how varied the DS games lineup is, Brain Training games for educated people, Tamogotchi for the people who love simulators (looking at girls/kids), then there's Mario Kart and M&L for those gamers. Nintendo is right in trying to break into different sectors of the market and it certainly shows here in Japan. It be interesting to see how the DS shortage will affect sales next week.

    flipping_heck, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • I heard Nintendo will include a special sudoku mode to the European version of Brain Training (release date is 31st March) and they will have a BIG marketing campaign geared towards the non-gamer crowd. I think the sudoku mode is pretty smart move from Nintendo especially now when sudoku (you know, that Japanese puzzle sensation) is HUGE in Europe.

    twilight, 30-11--0001 at 00:00
  • lol, more gamecubes sold than Xbox 360 :P
