GBA EXCLUSIVE: Need for Speed: Underground 2 - screens

Yup, that's right. Last year we were the first to bring you Need for Speed: Underground screens, and this year we do the very same with Need for Speed: Underground 2.

Yup, that's right. Last year we were the first to bring you Need for Speed: Underground screens, and this year we do the very same with Need for Speed: Underground 2.

Let's start with some screenshots from the the intro of the game.

It looks like the cars have been upgraded when we look at the amount of polygons used. This results into a more 'slicker' look of the cars, but then again: this is the intro of the game. Will the cars in the game itself be as slick as well?

To find out the answer to that question, we simply look at the verious game modes.

It sure looks like the cars got a visual upgrade in-game as well. Apart from that, it looks like the entire game has been lightened up a little if we compare these shots with some of the first part of Need for Speed: Underground. This might resolve the problem most gamers had in the first game: not being able to recognize a curve when it's coming.

But looks aren't everything. What was NfS:U all about? Customizing! Luckily for the engineers among you, Pocketeers decided to throw in a few customizations. As you can see in the screens below, customizing consists of four components: Aerodynamics, Accessoires, Paint and Vinyls.

But there's more for you to do! What's giving you the main advantage against your opponents? Car-performance... So what do we want? Car-performance tuning! What do we get? That's right, a number of settings for you to upgrade and configure.

Are we there yet? No, we've still got some extras in the game. What about mini-games? We don't know the purpose of these mini-games yet, but these screens prove they're definately in the game.

And finally, the last screenshot. For your viewing pleasure, here's the back of a Toyota Supra:

In the near future, we're having an interview with the producers of Need for Speed: Underground 2. If you've got a really good question, you can submit it to us and we might actually get you your answer.
