WIIU The Swindle Coming to the Wii U

Curve Digital has partnered with Size Five Games to bring their Steampunk Cybercrime Caper, The Swindle, to the Wii U later this yea and we have all the details inside.

The Swindle is a mixture of platform, action and stealth gameplay. Players will be breaking into buildings, hacking their systems, stealing their cash and then charging to the nearest exit to the sound of alarms and breaking glass. The buildings and levels you'll be exploring are all procedurally-generated, and players will be able to upgrade their thief with new skills and tools after every job allowing them to take on bigger buildings with more elaborate security.

Dan Marshall, developer and owner of Size Five Games commented: "Working with Curve means I'm able to bring out a high quality console version of The Swindle at the same time as PC, which allows me to spend my development time on finishing up the PC version and giving the game the vital polish and balance it needs."

Originally announced for PC in 2011, The Swindle was previously cancelled by Size Five Games after Marshall couldn't find a way to make the elements of the original hold together in a way he was happy with. The new version has been rebuilt from the ground up, focusing on procedurally-generated thieves and levels, and was resurrected in October last year following many fans expressing their disappointment in the original cancellation.

Curve Digital Managing Director Jason Perkins commented: "The Swindle is the latest in a long line of high quality indie titles from UK developers that Curve are proud to be bringing to console. There's a huge audience for polished indie games on all the major formats, and The Swindle's mix of stealth and platforming make it a perfect fit for console gaming."

The Swindle will join Nova-111, Ultratron, and OlliOlli in Curve Digital's 2015 indie line-up on console. For press opportunities to play the latest build of the Swindle and interview Dan Marshall, journalists can arrange to attend a showing of the game at the Curve offices on February 24th or book a meeting in with Curve and Dan at Pax East from the 6th to the 8th in Boston by contacting us directly.
