WII Xenoblade Chronicles Heading Down Under

Nintendo Australia has officially confirmed the release of Monolith Soft's recent RPG effort on the Wii, Xenoblade Chronicles, in Australia.

After the game appeared in a rating from the Australian Classification Board, and being heavily rumoured for release in Australia for some time, Nintendo Australia have confirmed that Xenoblade Chronicles will see a release in that region.

While no specific release date was given, with this expected to be announced at a later date, it is expected that the title will ship at some point before the year is out.

Xenoblade Chronicles, which had it's release date in Europe moved forward to August 19th a few weeks back, casts you as a character in a universe where two worlds created on dormant gods, called Bionis and Mechonis, are fighting an all out war with no end in sight. You'll control a character who joins the fight for Bionis and hopes to stave off an invading mechanical army and uncover the secrets of the mysterious sword known as the Monado.

This confirmation for Australia leaves only North America as the last major territory not to have a confirmation of the game's release, with Nintendo of America sidestepping any flat out confirmation or denial of the game's release in that territory when questioned by fans supporting Operation Rainfall.
